El lunes 13 de agosto saltaban todas las alarmas. El estado de salud de Aretha Franklin era muy delicado. En los últimos días su cáncer de páncreas había empeorado y estaba recibiendo cuidados paliativos en su domicilio de Detroit rodeada de todos sus familiares y allegados.
Ellos han tratado de que la reina del soul estuviera los más cómoda posible en sus últimos días de vida. Incluso uno de sus sobrinos contó a People que la artista se encontraba tranquila e incluso haciendo alguna que otra broma, consciente en todo momento y reconociendo a los que estaban a su alrededor.
Pero poco a poco su estrella se ha ido apagando y Aretha Franklin ha fallecido el jueves 16 de agosto a primera hora de la mañana, rodeada de los suyos. Rápidamente la triste noticia ha recorrido el mundo y el mundo de la música ha querido despedirse de la artista a través de sus redes sociales con fotos que pasarán a la historia.
