Jemima Khan comparte un conmovedor mensaje para despedir a su fallecida sobrina Iris Annabel Goldsmith

Jemima Khan ha querido homenajear a su sobrina Iris Annabel, cuya vida se perdió el 9 de julio de 2019 en los alrededores de la granja familiar en North Brewham, Somerset mientras conducía un quad. La chica no pudo evitar que este volcara y acabara aplastándola, provocándole la muerte a las pocas horas a pesar de todo el dispositivo médico que se desplazó hasta el lugar del accidente.

We want to say that allowing this process of renewal to occur is the greatest gift we can give to those who have left us. Antes del funeral celebrado el 17 de julio, Khan publicó en Instagram un emotivo mensaje acompañado de fotos privadas de su sobrina: "Nos despedimos de mi brillante y hermosa sobrina Iris. Mi corazón está roto por Ben y Kate. Aprendí el terrible significado de las palabras "inconsolable" e "indefenso". La periodista ha querido mencionar unas palabras del músico Nick Cave, el cual perdió a su hijo y que escribió una carta llena de dolor. Usando las mismas palabras de Cave, Jemima Khan continuaba: "He visto a una persona vivir la vida en una habitación oscura, esencialmente una tumba, como si estuviera muerta, como si de alguna manera la acercara más al espíritu de su hijo fallecido. Nunca supe que una persona pudiera llorar durante tanto tiempo ".

"Queremos decir que, a pesar de nosotros mismos, la vida avanza", escribió. "Que con el tiempo aprendamos a absorber nuestra pérdida, como una forma de blindaje, y que pueda convertirse en nuestra fuerza", eran las últimas palabras con las que se despedía Khan. Los mensajes de apoyo no tardaron en aparecer en la publicación, donde numerosos rostros conocidos como la Princesa Marie-Chantal de Grecia, el actor Will Kemp o la diseñadora Bella Freud compartieron su apoyo con la familia.

El padre de Iris Annabel también ha querido rendir homenaje a su hija en las redes sociales donde ha compartido un tierno vídeo de su hija de pequeña acompañado de un mensaje: "Querido Dios, por favor, ¿puedo recuperar a mi hermosa, brillante y amable niña, por favor, Dios?. Y si no, por favor cuídala mucho más. La quiero tanto y estoy muy orgulloso de ella. Me duele tanto que no puedo describirlo". En otra publicación posterior añadió: "Ella fue una verdadera estrella en ciernes y estoy muy orgulloso de ella. Era una superestrella académica e iba a ser una persona de gran éxito. Quería ser abogada. Ningún niño ha trabajado más duro".
